The 2008 Suzuki GSX-R1000 is here and it’s ready to ride! The GSX-R1000, also known as the Gixxer, is a legend in the Suzuki lineup. Year after year the Gixxer ranks near the top with the best performing motorcycles in its class.

Boasting a 999CC, four-stroke, four-cylinder engine, the GSX-R1000 is ready for the street or track right out of the box! The engine is liquid cooled with dual overhead cams and 16 valves, helping to increase the power of this beast. Suzuki features their Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve system(SDTV) on this model to aid in the fuel-injection, making their fuel system compact and efficient.

The 2008 Gixxer sounds great in part from the Suzuki Advanced Exhaust System(SAES), featuring aluminum/titanium mufflers located on both sides of the bike, with pipes of equal length that run under the engine. With Suzuki you would expect a cutting-edge chassis, and they deliver in spades! The five-casting, twin-spar frame, is lightweight and durable, offering flawless performance! Suzuki also boasts a rigid aluminum-alloy swingarm that pivots for better traction and performance. The front suspension is race-ready with an inverted telescopic design, featuring coil springs, and is fully adjustable. The rear suspension is a link-type, gas/oil set-up. The 2008 model is available in Blue/White, Black/Gold, and White/Silver.

The Suzuki Hayabusa is the flagship motorcycle of this company, but the GSX-R1000 is an ample and nasty little brother to it. The nasty-fast 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa just got badder! The Hayabusa, along with the Kawasaki ZX-14, have been regarded as the fastest production motorcycles in the world. Now Suzuki claims to stand alone at the top as the fastest motorcycle in production today. The previous version had a displacement of 1299cc, the 2008 model now boasts 1340cc. Compression on this beast is now 12.5 to 1, up from 11 to 1 helping to add a 12 percent gain in power. New titanium valves, a refined fuel injection, and chrome-moly connecting rods take this bike to a new level of performance. This ride is stunning at 110 foot-pounds of torque and will run through the 1/4 mile in less than 10 seconds!

The Hayabusa first hit the showroom floor in 1999 to raves and criticism. The critics viewed the styling as offensive, calling the design too aerodynamic, and even goofy looking. It has a long sleek design that some critics stated that it went against the grain of standard design. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinions, and the opinion of the owners of this bad-boy could not care less! Suzuki gets the last laugh after producing the fastest production motorcycle on the planet! A caution to new riders. If you plan to go out and purchase this bike, you need to be extremely careful, this bike is nasty-fast, and if you’re not careful, this motorcycle will throw you like a bucking bronco.
